    cartoons have changed

ok, so Nickelodeon has soo changed...or maybe i just haven't been in the cartoon-loop.
this morning i turned on the tv for Aiden's benefit...thought i could occupy him for a few minutes w/ some cartoons.  normally i never have cartoons on, so i was in for a surprise.

i put the tv on Nickelodeon (how can one go wrong there?).  so, i was do'n a couple things in the room...walking around the tv but not really paying attention...then suddenly the content caught my attention...i hear:
"tips for how to hide it when you're passing gas..."...come again, what?  seriously, a cartoon was on and instead of going directly to commercial, Nickelodeon inserted a lil 'helpful hints' section for all those gassy kids out there.  i was so taken back; i was instantly glued to the tv like a lil kid on a Sat. morning.  the 'helpful hints' section went a lil something like this...
"so kids here are a couple tips for hiding gas...
    (1) the 'dispersal mechanism' - for example, go sharpen your pencil while in class and the smell will disperse throughout the room
    (2) the 'blame game' - for example, as soon as you pass gas, instantly blame your neighbor
    (3) the 'temporary distraction' method - for example, pass gas and then make everyone around focus on something else"
"stay tuned for more tips from Nickelodeon when we return"
i then sat watching all the ads clearly waiting for the remaining tip.
"welcome back kids...a final helpful hint for you when passing gas in public - (4) insert a dryer sheet into the back of your pants, so that when you pass gas it will go through the dryer sheet and end up smelling like lilacs."

so, there you go...apparently i need to be waking up at 6am more often on weekends to catch helpful tips on Nickelodeon.  ahhh...good ol educational tv.  oh, and if dryer sheets happen to fall out of my clothes...it's clearly from the laundry.

    move'n on up...

    yo, yo, yo...
so, the official agreement for our new house was just signed yesterday...which means, unless we mess it up, we'll be closing on/moving into a new house on June 30th.  we found a good deal in a new development...with about a 1/2 of an acre...basically this will allow for the boy to run free and be his crazy self while the rents of said boy can sit in their yard drinking beverages...party on!

below is a photo of the new digs (which as you can see - is ridiculously yellow, and since i hate all easter colors, the color ends up being its only flaw - nothing in life is perfect).

this also means that we now have to sell our current townhouse...that's the less fun piece.  this wknd begins the open house process...painful.  so, if you know anyone that's looking for a 3-bedroom townhouse near the north pole...iz gotz a winner for ya!
